Update:  Added a pic of our new Humpty-Mobile!

Hi, thanks for visiting!  You have reached the intergalactic headquarters for Alex Case.  Yes, I'm the "ALEX CASE", not another of those wanna-be imposters.  That's why when you came to AlexCase.com, you found me!  (And No!, the ALEXCASE.COM domain name is not for sale!  Well actually it is, but, unless Bill Gates is your butler, I seriously doubt you have the asking price!)

Since you have made it to my webpage, here's a little bit about me:

I'm a 14 years old from Springfield, MO!  I'm into, computer games, and movies, and technology.  My favorite food is Pizza!  I make my own, and to date everyone whose tried it thinks it's the best...  So I've grown to simply call it "World's Best Pizza".  I live in Springfield, MO where I attend middle school.  I plan to attend Missouri State University (MSU) for college.  I really don't yet know what I want to do after that.

My "current" favorite computer game is Half-Life2.  I'm also a big fan of Microsoft  Flight Simulator and MAME.  In fact I have a dedicated MAME arcade machine built from a converted Asteroids machine. It plays over 400 of the actual classic arcade games from the 70's through the 90's.  (Not modern rewrites, but the actual assembly code from the original machines.) It's a great way to waste time and have some fun.

I also like to get away from computers sometimes, this pic was from a July 2005 daytrip to Branson, MO - a quick trip for lunch, but while there we also decided to "ride the ducks".

A pic of the family on a getaway for the day Branson, Mo trip.

In June of 2006 my dad and I built this BBQ cart of our back deck.  It's custom built for use with a Big-Green-Egg BBQ cart which will go in the hole you see in the table top!

What the hole for you ask?

Some day's I get moving a bit faster than others, this is one of my not-so-fast days.  (Thanks Dad!)

Can't a guy just get some sleep!

We just bought a fancy computer on wheels, it's a new Toyota Prius.  This car gets the highest mileage of any passenger car currently manufactured.  It's also very ecological, in fact it's so clean that the exhaust is actually cleaner than the air it takes in a big part of the time.  But the really cool part is the technology.  Among other features it includes voice control, GPS navigation, smart occupant recognition, full wrap-around airbags (even the back seat side windows).  It's also a hybrid gas-electric and we've modified it to run fully electric anytime we desire!  We've made several mods so far and the one I'm looking forward to is a verbal backup warning.  This car is so quiet that people don't hear it coming, so we are going to put a warning alarm so that when the car is in reverse it actually says "Warning...Backing up....Warning...Backing up..." That should be interesting...

Yea, learning to drive can be fun!

My room is a cross between a modern computer lab and a mad-scientists cave.  At any given time there are many projects "in the works"; half-dissected custom built application servers litter the area.  I'm probably the only kid in Springfield who has a double-wide walk-in closet completely dedicated to (and FULL of) thousands of various computer patch cables.  This is a shot of the server rack in my room.  This system runs 24/7, has features a UPS system capable of keeping the entire rack alive in the event of a power outage for up to 36 hours!!!  IOW, If you are I are in a fragfest, even a power outage won't save you from my wrath! :)  One interesting tidbit is that this system and it's support equipment generate enough heat that I never open the furnace register for heat during the winter.

My computer can Frag your computer!!!!

Here are a few other misc pictures, for your viewing pleasure: (To see any picture in it's full size, just click on it!)

I really like a good round of Flight Simulator!

.

This was our Flying Machines Christmas Tree!

But not everything I enjoy is about flying!

Every Ornament on the tree was a flying machine of one type or another. From Hot-air baloons, to the Wright Brothers first plane, to spaceships from Star Trek. Aviation rules!

Enjoying a hug at the Grand Gulch! Snow is for building Snowmen! Can you find me in this picture?
This was an experiment my Dad and I did. We went to the Army Surplus and bought military camoflauge clothing and paints. Dad then decked me out and then took this picture. I'm standing in front of the tall bush holding a bat! For a close-up click on the picture.

Setting up for an attack run in my F-16 Eagle!

I made this Red Ant in art class! Making "World's Best Pizza"! Me At SMSU, go Bears!
OK, please read this: My Pizza Recipe is a secret, so please don't email me about it! Someday after I go to college I "might" open a chain of Pizza restaurants. If this happens then you will get a change to try "World's Best Pizza". Otherwise unless you happen to be a friend that I invite over or unless a major Pizza chain makes me an offer I can't refuse, you will just have to wait. But - trust me it's worth the wait! Everyone whose tried it says so!

Just this year I really started to enjoy Roller coasters, this picture was taken on a Rollercoaster called "WildFire" at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.

This is me pulling negative-G's Handsfree!

Finally, I have to admit that I am a Lego fan.  My collection of Legos has about 90,000 pieces.  I'll make anything out of Lego's.  My creations include everything from a self-potrait to furniture.  Here are a pictures of a few of the items I've made from Lego bricks:

Welcome to Alex Case's World of Lego.

A good Lego exercise is to made a round ball from square Lego Bricks! I probably should have used colors to make a basketball or perhaps even a globe. Maybe next time! In the background you can see my Lego work area. It is a 4x8 foot table with bright lights for my Lego sessions. Stacked on one end of the table are a few of my Tubs of Legos. In this picture I'm hard at work on another Lego painting. I'm using the computer to visualize the logo I'm working on. In the background you can see a collection of coin-operated video games. The one with "CASE (As in Alex Case)" on the Marquee is a custom built MAME emulator. It plays over 400 actual coin-op games. In this picture it still had a monitor placed in it. It has since been replaced with an LED flat panel display. In this picture you see three of my "Lego Paintings" in the lower left is a self portrait, the upper left is the finished Logo of the local PBS TV station. To the right of that is the SMSU Bear logo.
A round ball from square bricks! At work in my Lego Studio. A few of my works.

This picture is intentionally bright in order to reveal the details of the Black Lego's that make up the Bezel inside this Mame Cabinet. I built this bezel when my Dad and I replaced the Monitor that was inside this machine with an LED display. If you note the control panel of this machine is custom designed to allow for an optimal compatability with over 400 different arcade games! (You even have to put quarters into this machine to play!)

My Lego Mantle clock on the Fireplace.

Making an arcade monitor bezel out of Lego's!

My Dad recently taught me to play Chess, so I created this Chess board. It (like all my creations) are 100% Lego! I found a great set of hand carved Marble Chess pieces on Ebay so I'll add a picture soon that shows the board with the new chess pieces when they arrive.
This is where I do my Lego design work. Most of the Lego Bricks are stored in the Blub tubs that sit on the back edge of my work table. The 102 tilt-out bins store a smaller quantity of blicks, plates, technics, and other various Lego components for quick access.

This is my Lego Lab, with about 380,000 pieces.

This Chess Board is my latest work.
